24 Hours in West Palm Beach, Florida: A Perfect Day of Food, Fun, and Relaxation
Nestled along Florida’s Atlantic coast, West Palm Beach offers a delightful blend of sun, sand, and excellent cuisine. I was there recently for a business trip and to my delight, there was plenty to do, see, and eat. But if you only have 24 hours, here are my recommendations.
Breakfast at Blue Mountain Coffee House
Start your day with a laid-back yet energizing breakfast at Blue Mountain Coffee House, known for its authentic Jamaican coffee and cozy atmosphere. Located in the heart of downtown, this spot serves some of the best coffee you’ll find in South Florida. Their signature Blue Mountain coffee, brewed from beans sourced directly from Jamaica, offers a smooth yet robust flavor. Pair your coffee with their freshly baked pastries or a hearty Jamaican patty to kickstart your day. I dived into a delectable eggs benedict- I could hear the chef whisking up the sauce from my seat. Fresh tings!
Whether you prefer a simple cappuccino or something more adventurous like a coconut milk latte, this café has something for every coffee lover, made with the best coffee in the world- I may be biased in that opinion. 🇯🇲Take a moment to savor your breakfast while soaking in the local vibes of West Palm Beach’s charming downtown district.
Explore Juno Beach
After breakfast, head 20 minutes north to the serene shores of Juno Beach. Known for its soft sand and laid-back atmosphere, Juno Beach is a great place to unwind and enjoy Florida’s natural beauty. If you're into wildlife, stop by the Loggerhead Marinelife Center, where you can learn about sea turtle conservation and maybe even witness a turtle release, depending on the season.
For those who love to stroll, the Juno Beach Pier offers scenic views of the Atlantic Ocean, making it an ideal spot for a peaceful walk or some quiet fishing. If you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of dolphins playing in the waves.
Lunch at City Food Hall Grandview
After a relaxing morning at the beach, head back into town for lunch at the City Food Hall Grandview. Located within the trendy Grandview Public Market, this food hall offers a wide variety of global cuisine in a vibrant, communal setting. Whether you're craving tacos, sushi, or a fresh salad, there’s something for everyone here.
One of the highlights is the Zipitios stall, where you can try gourmet tacos made with fresh, local ingredients. If you’re in the mood for something different, head over to Ramen Lab Eatery for a satisfying bowl filled with ramen, pork, bok choi, fried garlic and a variety of toppings.
Grab your food and enjoy it in the market’s outdoor seating area, where you can relax under string lights and mingle with locals. On Thursdays, they have live music, and artists display their works.
Cholo Soy
Another option is gourmet Mexican street food at Cholo Soy. This vibrant eatery brings bold, authentic flavors with a modern twist. Chef-owner Clayton Carnes has crafted a menu that celebrates traditional Mexican street food, with an emphasis on fresh, locally sourced ingredients and handmade tortillas. Cholo Soy is known for its inventive tacos, like the pork belly with pineapple and crispy Brussels sprouts, as well as delicious house-made salsas that pack a punch. The cozy, casual atmosphere, complete with colorful decor and outdoor seating, is a local favorite for a quick bite or a laid-back meal. This spot blends authenticity and creativity in a relaxed setting.
Stroll Along Clematis Street
After lunch, take a stroll down Clematis Street, the historic heart of downtown West Palm Beach. This lively street is home to unique boutiques, art galleries, and street performers. If you're a fan of public art, check out the colorful murals that adorn the buildings here.
Dinner at Pistache French Bistro
For dinner, treat yourself to a culinary journey at Pistache French Bistro. This Parisian-style restaurant offers an elegant yet relaxed dining experience right in the heart of downtown. Start with a glass of wine from their extensive selection and enjoy classic French appetizers like salmon tartare or a charcuterie board.
For the main course, the steak frites or duck confit are popular choices that bring authentic French flavors to your plate. We dined on a beautiful charcuterie board with manchego, cheddar, and brie cheeses. Pistache combines excellent food with a chic ambiance, making it the perfect place to end your day in West Palm Beach.
Evening Stroll by the Waterfront
To wrap up your 24-hour adventure, take an evening walk along the West Palm Beach waterfront. The cool breeze, shimmering water, and city lights create a peaceful end to a day filled with good food, relaxation, and sunshine.
With its mix of delicious cuisine, beautiful beaches, and cultural experiences, West Palm Beach offers an unforgettable day trip that leaves you wanting more.
